💼 What Do You Want to Be? Explore Careers Before You Choose a Course!

Don't just ask, “What should I study?” Ask, “Where could it take me?” 🧭 Choosing a course without considering your career goals can make the decision harder than it needs to be. A better starting point is to explore the types of work that interest you, understand the skills those roles involve and investigate the qualifications that may be relevant. 🌟 Discover what interests you Are you someone who likes building, fixing, creating, organising, helping people or solving problems? Different interests can point towards different career areas. 🔧 Hands-on work: Explore trades, automotive, engineering and technical occupations. 🍳 Creative and service-oriented work: Investigate hospitality, cooking, events and customer service. 💻 Digital and analytical work: Look into information technology, data and business systems. 🤝 People-focused work: Research community services, education, business support and relevant health occupations. These are starting points, not limits. Many careers combine different skills and interests. 🔗 Connect careers with qualifications Once you identify an occupation, investigate:

• What tasks does the job involve?

• What skills and knowledge are needed?

• Is a formal qualification required?

• Are there licensing or registration requirements?

• Can experience or further study help you progress?

Some occupations require specific qualifications or professional registration. Others may have multiple entry pathways. 🧭 Build your pathway backwards Try this simple approach: Career goal → Required skills → Relevant qualification → Suitable provider This helps you connect your study decision to a practical objective. 🚀 Explore careers with AQF Verify AQF Verify helps learners explore occupations, career pathways and qualifications associated with their goals.
